I have issue with this site or these characters, and I am extremely offended! Where do I direct my rage?
This site is wonderful, and I would like to leave comments, feedback, or just ask a question that's not covered here. Who to I talk to?
I love the site, but I notice it doesn't update all that often compared to many other webcomics. Is there any way to just notify me when a new strip arrives so I don't have to check all the time?
What is the inspiration for creating your comic?
So what's the deal here? Is there supposed to be some kind of story?
So what exactly IS Downsy supposed to be?
Jackalope?
So who are Downsy's friends?
What were Downsy's parents like? Were they good people?
Can I get a downsy stuffed animal? Or maybe his tie?
Downsy seems to have changed a lot since the first strip...
Can I be in the next Downsy comic?
Can I make fan art of Downsy?
Can I use images of Downsy on my webpage, or for a forum avatar, or some other use?
I have this awesome idea for a Downsy comic!! Please hear me out!!
You can contact the site administrator at the_management@downsy.net.

Well thank you for your support or interest in the site! Again, if you have anything you'd like to ask or tell, just contact the management, at the_management@downsy.net!

Downsy is a side-project, so new strips appear whenever the management finds both the time, and a good idea. As for notices when new strips arrive, an RSS feed is coming soon!
What is the inspiration for creating your comic?
Downsy lives in an enchanted, surreal world. He's blessed with a perfect sort of life, and cursed with the inability to ever fully realize it. Downsy is a creature capable of unconditional love and loyalty, blissfully shielded from the worst of the real world, and although he'll never fully understand how the world around him works, his curse is also his gift, since it means he forever continues on in ignorant bliss. It's happy, and rife with whimsy, but with a little sadness mixed in there too. I think of Downsy as both kinds of hugs, if that makes any sort of sense.
So what's the deal here? Is there supposed to be some kind of story?
Eventually, plans are to have a full, multiple-comic spanning adventure starring Downsy and all his friends. In the meantime however, he's still busy learning about life and having many small adventures, so please, enjoy his journey and the strange continuity it creates.
So what exactly IS Downsy supposed to be?
Downsy is a girratalope, which is one-half giraffe, one-half rat, and one-half jackalope. (As you might have noticed, so is Dietrich!) All those parts don't really match up very well, so lots can go wrong. In Downsy's case, he has trisomy 21, but this doesn't stop him from enjoying his wonderful and surreal life.
Jackalope?
A Jackalope is a mythical north american creature, said to be half-jackrabbit, half-antelope. For more information, check out this informative article on them!
So who are Downsy's friends?
You can learn all about Downsy and his friends on the cast page. As his circle of friends grows, more entries may appear! Not everyone's entry is finished yet, look for some more soon!
What were Downsy's parents like? Were they good people?
Downsy's parents are indeed wonderful folks! They love Downsy very much and he's lucky to have them! His dad is a stern but gentle Jackalope who's always looking out for his family, and his mother is a cheery, down-to-earth Girrat with old world sensibilities. Downsy's happiness is the most important thing in the world to them, and even if they don't immediately seem to be a big part of his life in the comics, they're always nearby, ready to help in case something goes awry. As an aside, Downsy's tie looks just like his dad's!
Can I get a downsy stuffed animal? Or maybe his tie?
The management doesn't have any plans to sell Downsy merchandise at the moment, but who knows what the future holds!
Downsy seems to have changed a lot since the first strip...
Isn't it the way of the world that these things happen? In the beginning, the management wasn't really sure where the comic was going, or what it was really going to be about. Fortunately for Downsy and his friends, things seem to have normalized somewhat, and everyone has settled into a shape and attitude that seems best suited for them. The characters, as they appear on the cast page, should pretty much stay looking like they do there from now on.
Can I be in the next Downsy comic?
No.
Can I make fan art of Downsy?
Absolutely! As a matter of fact, if you're particularly proud of it, send a copy my way, and maybe if there's enough of them, I can open up a fan art section. If you're going to draw mean, gross, or perverted pictures of Downsy and his crew, that's certainly your own perogative, but they won't ever be placed on the site, and it probably means you have no soul. Sorry about your loss if this is the case.
Can I use images of Downsy on my webpage, or for a forum avatar, or some other use?
Feel free to use images of Downsy on your webpage for any small, not-for-profit use. Just make sure you give credit back to this page, and don't try to claim the image as your own! If you plan on using Downsy for any sort of commercial purpose, or as a major role in your page, then please contact the_management@downsy.net first, and I'm sure we can work something out.
I have this awesome idea for a Downsy comic!! Please hear me out!!
The management is certainly not opposed to suggestions, and if you think your idea is a sure-fire hit, send it my way at the usual address - the_management@downsy.net, Don't get dismayed if your comic never materializes, however, if I use your idea, I will credit you for it in that comic's description with a name you specify in the email. As a general rule, however, the vast majority of the comics tend to be done via the whims and ideas of the management.
